This question is about some popular bodybuilding supplements and why they are used. I have questions on:
Weight Gainer- if protein is for growth, what are the extra calories in the form of MCTs/ carbs required for? I thought protein is all you need to grow-what’s all the other stuff for? Instead of weight gainer I use 500ml British Gatorade and 25g Whey Isolate postworkout- is it the same concept?
Creatine- I really don’t understand this. I hear creatine replaces the cell fuel ATP-however I thought cell fuel was called glycogen? Are these 2 the same thing? How do you know your ATP/glycogen is gone-wouldn’t the carbs floating around your body automatically provide energy once fuel goes? Can’t you use carbs for energy instead of creatine (if creatine is protein based then how does it provide energy).
Fat Metaboliser-Doesn’t the body naturally metabolise fat with the exercise? Why use?
Amino Acids- Broken down proteins-can’t you just use complete protein? Any special ones?
NOS-?

dont use supplements. . . bad for u. . go natural and run. . and eat healthy
first off, food supplements (such as protein and amino acid based supplements) are not bad for you. they are actually good for you.
as for your questions:
weight gainers – you should stay away from these. they are mostly just sugar and protein. keep having your protein and eating plenty of healthy food (lean meats, vegetables etc)
creatine helps your body convert ADP (used ATP) back into ATP. taking 5grams of creatine monohydrate immediatly after each workout will help your muscles recover.
fat metabolisers aid your body in burning fat, you should probably stay away from these as they are not the best thing for you.
amino acids are easier for your body to absorb and specific amino acids do different things in your body. taking BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids) immediatly after your workout will help your muscles recover.
NOS is pretty much crap. it may help a little bit but is not worth the money.
hope this helps
Whey protein and Amino Acids are good but don’t use the others. Creatine can cause severe acne(I mean SEVERE) and the fat metaboliser can cause dizziness. Protein isn’t all you need, you need complex carbs, vitamins/minerals, enough water, and unsaturated fat. You wont get all this from supllements. You need a good diet for your fitness goals, supplements are just a little helping hand.
