Im not siding with anyone im just saying that Insanity is way more Intense that running long distances,, you burn more fat and calories because of the constant fluctuations of your heart rate,, making your heart work harder and not get used to the steady Heart Rate like running a marathon,,,all im saying is this ” Dont KNock it till you try it “

i actually did do Insanity and i burned more than 1000 calories,, i have the Bowflex heart rate monitor with the chest strap and it was pretty damn accurate with my HR the entire time

@krazylacrosse19 I KNOW what carb cycling is. You need to get to the point where you can understand WHY it works.
@p90x4lifewaswrong carb cycling is switcinhg your intake. Yuo carb up so your body gets used to burning at that level, and you drop your carb intake, so its still burning high, but instead of the carbs that arnt there, its burns bodyfat. Are you agreeing or disagreeing with this?

@krazylacrosse19 You burn up 10-15% of your calories thru digestion,. . certain foods take more calories to digest than others (proteins),. . but that does NOT even come close to what exercise can do. And you’re taking it to extremes. SEVERE calorie deficits WILL put you in starvation mode as I’ve saud. Not slight cuts to daily intake and slight increases in activity. “Carb cycling” is merely creating a calorie deficit,. . but it is not too large as for your body to enter this mode.
@krazylacrosse19 Yes and it is a myth. Muscle burns extra calories when it is being utilized,. . but not just sitting around like they want you to think.

@p90x4lifewaswrong Maybe running is tedious, and boring, and theres no one there to push you through your workout, and you burn more calories with insanity. I think you become more athlically rounded as well, jump training ect. Anorexics are skinny because they dont eat, if they were to increase the amount of calories they were eating, im sure they wouldnt be skinny. Food can speed up your metabolism, look it up?
Atkins, South Beach, etc. ALL work because you are creating a calorie deficit. That’s unfortunately the only way to rid yourself of fat. I’m sorry
You say youre not into “calorie deficits”. Well,. . . good luck in losing weight then! Thats the only way to lose fat. If you lose fat “carb cycling” it is because you are creating a calorie deficit.
@krazylacrosse19 Why not just friggin go outside and RUN?? Its FREE!! No your body doesn’t go into starvation mode. If that were true,. . anorexics wouldnt be skinny. You’re incorrect on a number of things here. The only thing that increases the metabolism,. . . is exercise.
@p90x4lifewaswrong I believe there is bodyweight training. I tihnk insanity will help people become more athletic in an all around sense. Exercise bike can only get you so far. I’m not into the whole calorie deficit thing. Your body will go into starvation mode. Once you start eating more calories again, you body will hang on to them, and storing them as bodyfat. I like carb cycling because it increases my metabolism, and keeps my body guessing.
@p90x4lifewaswrong I checked it out on google, its for both. (the dexa-scan) I knew it was a bone density test to check for osteoperosis.
@krazylacrosse19 It is important to realize that you can lose weight on any program hat creates a calorie deficit Krazy. INSANITY works because it decreases your calories. I’ve never jumped out of an airplane without a parachute,. . but I know it wouldn’t be smart! The LARGER the deficit,. . the more weight you will lose. Though I do believe if your deficit is TOO large you sacrifice muscle. Without any weight training in Insanity,. . there will also be muscle loss.

@krazylacrosse19 If you want to do that,. . have at it! These types of articles have been going around since I was in high school. LOL I remember the “Squat and Milk” program: Drink a gallon of milk and do squats 3X a week. I gained around 20 lbs in 6 months doing that. Realistically, only about 6 of those pounds were muscle. I would have gained just as much muscle if i were to just eat naturally and not force feed and just LIFT!!! And a Dexa Scan measure body fat. I’m trying to save you years. . .
