Is it true that diet supplements are expensive in Egypt?

My friend from Cairo has a few friends that own pharmacies. My friend says that there is a huge demand for them there.. and that they cost 5 times the amount than they do here in the US.

Example: $15 bottle of supplements sell for $80-90USD.

1 egyptian pound is $5usd
Sorry, $1usd is 5 Egyptian pounds.

I dont know the Exact prices, although it doesnt seem to be That high. . . maybe double or triple. I tried a couple months ago to bring about $2000 in supplements/vitamins for my wifes clinic. They seized them at the airport even though I declared them and was ready and willing to pay the import tax. . . . U can bring up to 20 bottles personally. . . I did this the next trip. But I did it more to help out people who really needed them, its hard to make much of a profit on 20 bottles. . . I have looked in to shipping them, but this type of item is really tightly controlled for some reason. I would have to have my wife get another license and register as a company etc etc. . . Let me know if u find anything out as I would be very interested.

ANYTHING imported from USA to Egypt sells at a very expensive price in Egypt. You can say it costs 3 as much. Anyway, diet supplements don’t do a thing. Nothing works better than eating the right healthy diet and exercising.
