muscle/vascularity and genetic?

I’m 36 male and have been weight lifting for a LONG time. One of the reasons for my lifting and exercising is clearly to attract opposite gender (kind of pathetic as this is NOT an effective way to enhance female attraction to male as women are not as visual as men).
Be that as it may, I am becoming more and convinced that muscularity and vascularity (veins showing on your arms) are mostly genetically determined, and you get the desired result IF YOU HAVE THE GENES.
I don’t want to be a bodybuilder. Not at all, but no matter how lean I become I just cannot get the veins to appear on my biceps (veins on biceps are very common in Hollywood movies).
How many of you feel that muscles and vascularity are mostly genetic?
I will have to add that it’s becoming frustrating and even a bit depressing. That doesn’t mean that I should quit exercising though.

  1. Raoul Pseudonym says:

This is referred to as “bombing”. You can make those veins stand out but as a guy, I think they look terrible.

There is some degree or genetic determination, but environment also plays a part.
