Nineteen patients at six Birmingham-area hospitals, including Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, were allegedly contaminated with a potentially deadly bacteria after they were exposed to contaminated intravenous supplements, said a nurse with the Alabama Department of Public Health.
