i am looking to put a little more muscle mass on, and have been looking forward to buying a creatine supplement. i know how it works and all that but i was wondering what are, if any, the negative side effects of using the product? also, when can i expect to see noticeable results? if it matters, i am 16 and understand that it is not recommended for those under 18, so i don’t want any “don’t do it”s or “it’s not worth it”s. just side effects and expected result period.

There’s none recommended for kids there’s no actual age requirement on this stuff, but I never had any side effects taking it, but a con of creatine is you have a more of a chance of becoming dehydrated because creatine retains water so you gotta drink like double the amount of water you drink a day now. You’ll put on a good amount of muscle if you don’t have much now, but it takes awhile. Start with protein first don’t start right away with the creatine only. I would suggest using either myofusion protein or optinum nutrition. For creatine i heard no xplode is really good.
Ur 16 dont use any product, but if you “must”, use pure whey powder. Creatine is bed for your lungs,so you must drink a lot of water when you use it, and use it every second month. I never used creatine and i gained alot of muscle only with wright training and Mass Factor powder (which doesnt contain creatine). If i were you i would only do cardio for now , and start “building” when youre 18.
Creatine draws water into your muscles and this can lead to dehydration. So you need to drink lots of water to make sure this does not happen. Otherwise you can potentially get any of the negative effects assoicated with dehydration and there are quite a few – but drink water and they are avoidable.
The increase in water retention can make some people look fat arround the stomach – this will go away if you stop taking the supplement.
Some people say it causes kidney stones – dehydration does raise the risk of kidney stones
Some people experience a burning sensation when taking creatine – usually the result of taking it too concentrated – so dilute it down if this happens. Also some people get upset stomachs – again probable from taking too much and being unable to digest it properly
