What are the pros and cons of taking creatine?

I’m a student, 15 years old, competetive football player, and I go to the gym daily. I’ve just begun taking these supplements (Purchased at GNC). I’d like to know how creatine could possibly stunt your growth or anything of that sort. I’m currently 5’11-6’0 tall + 169lbs.
