What benefits does Creatine give you that a protein supplement can’t?

I play football and I wanted to know if Creatine is really worth it. I will be going into my junior year in high school and a bunch of people that I see in the weight room are taking Creatine and are pretty big now. I just want to know if Creatine really makes that much of a difference than a protein supplement.

Creatine can be found in most Whey Protein shakes, which tend to taste worst than protein shakes (this leads me to believe you may be right, that it is more beneficial. ) However, make sure to use creatine only when active, because if a couch potato ingested it, it could cause potential health problems, because it builds up in your spine. This is good of you because it is a good idea to research anything that you plan on putting in your body! Kudos and good luck!

Creatine IS worth it. Protein helps repair muscles and creates NEW muscle fibers. Creatine acts upon a different pathway. It is perhaps the most studied and researched supplements out there. It is very safe and recent studies have even shown promising benefits for the brain and heart as well. Look for something called Kre-Alkalyn. It is patented form of creatine monohydrate that is specifically balanced for maximum absorption.

    You should also be taking:

    -A multivitamin
    -Omega-3 fish oil
    -L-Glutamine
    -BCAA’s

Creatine will help improve your energy output in the gym, but you still have to put in the work to get the results.

Lift hard. Eat right. Rest. Repeat.

You need to know what each does first Whey protein feeds the muscle cells so they will grow. While Creatine helps the muscle cells retain water so they will be larger.
When you workout and break down your muscle fibers, your body retains water to help recover. When the muscle fibers regroup they become more stronger and defined.
Creatine along with Protein are in almost every food you eat. But, we can not take in enough food to get the percentage we need to increase muscle growth. If you have to choose which to take over the other, I would go for the protein. If you do decide on Creatine take the right about of dosage, this product has a history of side effects both good and bad.
