I am needing to gain 10 pds atleast by September. I was wondering, what foods are good to promote weight gain and what about protein shakes? I tried one before and it seemed to help but was seeing if theres any other types of protein shakes that anyone else found sucessful? Thanks. I am naturally thin by the way and 26 yrs old.

i have been trying to put on weight for awhile and its hard battling with my metabolism. but if you want to gain muscle, i would recommend any kind of protein shake and eating meats, poultry, fishing, peanuts, anything with high proteins. fish is especially good. i would also recommend a nice light work out 3 times a week involving free weights at the least for 30mins a day. that seems to work the best to gain a nice toned out body.
If you are just so skinny that you want to gain fat to look like a healthy size, then ensure (grocery stores have it), cyproheptadine (you can get a prescription from a doctor for this) and high carb foods (pasta, cheese, etc. ) will all help. I was 140 lbs and 6″3 at 25 years old and thats what finally worked for me. If you want to gain muscle, then thats not going to work and you should just listen to the first answer for that.
